‘FROM A TO BE'

The journey and arrival in being. Being alone or all-one. A tribute to traveling in our worlds and traveling in our selves., the interactions between the inside and outside, the recurring redefinition of one's own point of view and finding one's way back into balance. In her lyrics Elena Shirin interweaves and scatters paths to remember the quintessence of the living, of feeling, of trust and love.

After a US tour on which the 23-year-old Viennese, among others Aramboa singer. Since performing her solo project as a support act by Moon Hooch for the first time, her album has been the focus of her artistic work. In recent years she has also collaborated and played with musicians / producers such as Oehl (A) , Demuja (A) and Nathaniel Markman of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (A).

The whole album 'From A to Be' is a selection of songs Elena has written between the age of 12-22. In her mostly self-produced tracks Elenas' voice carries the transition from a beat-driven, Woodkid sounding track with almost shamanic vocals to a waltz ballade. Field recordings from her travels and features of international musicians like Matthias Bartholomey (A), Wenzl McGowen (US), Penthy Roussies (PT) and many more, represent the many places that this album was recorded. The fusion of genres and evolution of Elenas songwriting in this 10 years show musical paths that have already been walked as well as paths that are still to be walked. In her lyrics she inspires you to venture your own comfort zone and encourages you to go your very own path.

“I haven't really dared to go into my feminine power for a long time. Although I have a very good connection with myself, it has always been a door that I never opened fully. For years I've only worked with men in music, but especially within the past year, all of these things have turned 180 degrees. Since I deliberately created space to integrate this door more, I turned my longing for feminine approach to music creation into a curiosity. My first collaboration with a woman will be heard on my album 'From A to Be'. It is so incredibly exciting to feel the differences between male and female counterparts in music. And I find it incredible how long missed out on sisterhood and feminine collaboration and support... But I guess everything comes in time.
